One day, few labourers were asked by Chinna Pannaiyar to dig a Canal for irrigation purpose. When they were digging, labourers saw some blood stains on their Spade (Manvetti). Seeing the blood stains, the labourers were panic and informed the Chinna Pannaiyar. At the same time, Chinna Pannaiyar’s wife fainted in their house. She was unconscious and in a divine state. She was uttering that “IAM THE AMMAN. PLACE ME IN A TEMPLE FACING NORTH – SOUTH” Since SHE had taken the Temple on Her own, this Temple is named as “ALAYAM YEDUTHA AMMAN” The present Priest’s grand father’s grand father, who was a labourer under Chinna Pannaiyar initially, was appointed as a Priest that day onwards by the Chinna Pannaiyar initially, was appointed as a Priest that day onwards by the Chinna Pannaiyar and his fifth generation is serving for this Temple till date.
